Hi, my name is Sylvia Bank. I am a second generation Asian American. I was born and have lived my entire life in Maryland with the exception of my undergraduate studies at MIT and medical school at NYU School of Medicine. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have four children - two boys and two girls. I consider myself a professional advice giver, having practiced primary care pediatrics for over a decade. I have also worked in our local hospital's pediatric emergency room. My hidden talents included crocheting/amigurumi, identifying elevator music, making Halloween costumes, and singing karaoke. I can't wait to share parenting stories with you!

I am a pediatrician living in San Antonio, Texas with my husband and children. After college at Virginia Tech, I completed my medical school and pediatric residency training at Johns Hopkins. My husband and I have been married for more than 20 years and have six children, three boys and three girls, ranging nine years apart in age. We’ve had the privilege of fostering children and our youngest two are adopted. I have practiced primary care and pediatric emergency medicine as faculty with both UT Health San Antonio and the Baylor College of Medicine. I am a Christian and actively involved in my church. A few fun facts about me: I was once caught in quicksand, I homeschooled my children for over ten years, and my favorite attire is hiking pants. I love caring for children and am excited to discuss topics in parenting!
